Pettersson actually had so much planned for today: digging up the garden beds, fixing the chicken coop, chopping wood, and finally getting the yard in order. But it’s pouring rain outside, and Pettersson doesn’t feel like doing anything anymore. He just wants to sit inside his kitchen and grumble. That’s when the lively cat Findus has an idea that even catches his grumpy friend’s attention: He wants to build a dream car! So they turn the house and the shed upside down to gather everything the two of them need for their new set of wheels. And then the hammering, tinkering, and experimenting begin. As the car takes on increasingly bizarre shapes, Pettersson notices how his bad mood melts away with Findus’s growing enthusiasm, and his grumpiness turns into creativity.

Based on “Poor Pettersson” and “Pettersson and Findus Build a Car,” this musical tells the story of how imagination, friendship, and creative tinkering can chase away a bad mood.
